Recently I have been using impressions and memories to finish my paintings. I prefer to work from life as much as possible, but many times my subject is unavailable before I complete an image. Starting a painting from life and then finishing using my recollections has produced imagery less tied to the literal. I plan to continue on in this vein to add further personality to my work.

I have been painting in oils and watercolor for 25 years, and I am a signature member of the Transparent Watercolor Society of America. The reason I paint? I never tire of the challenges and how it develops my awareness
of the world around me.
