A Wisconsin native, Cynthia's professional career began in graphic design and she has provided award-winning design and project management services for numerous companies. Struck by an overwhelming urge to paint (in her relatively few free moments) she sought out mentors to learn the basics and provide inspiration. Today, Cynthia paints in either oils or watercolor and is drawn to a wide variety of subject matter including botanical, figurative, still life and landscape. She has been in numerous juried shows, both national and regional and is a signature member of the Transparent Watercolor Society of America.
Several years ago, following another personal passion, Cynthia became a certified Master Gardener. Drawing upon her training in this area has enriched her botanical and landscape paintings. She currently teaches oil painting and garden journal classes in the Madison area.
Cynthia is the proud mom of two grown daughters, and has a precocious grandson. She lives with her pastel artist husband, John Ribble, a Borzoi named Vasily, a Welsh Corgi named Maximus, and cats Sneaker and Orson.
